Kappa Mu Chaplains continue a tradition of spiritual leadership for the brotherhood. Seniors Logan Dodd (Eagleville, TN) and Luke Safin (Paris, TN) are currently serving as Chaplains of the Kappa Mu Chapter, providing spiritual leadership and mentorship within the brotherhood.
A Legacy of Leadership
The role of Chaplain within Kappa Mu carries significant responsibility. Chaplains provide guidance for the moral, ethical, and spiritual well-being of the chapter, ensuring that faith and character remain central to the fraternity experience. At each chapter meeting, time is specifically set aside for the Chaplains to share encouragement, insight, and reflection with their fellow brothers.
Unlike most leadership positions within the chapter, the Chaplain role is not elected. Instead, it is intentionally passed down each year to younger brothers who have demonstrated readiness to rise to the opportunity. This tradition fosters continuity, mentorship, and intentional spiritual development across generations of Kappa Mu men.
Strength Through Small Groups
In recent years, Kappa Mu small groups have developed a relationship with TTU Campus Outreach, creating opportunities for deeper connection and spiritual growth. Through these small groups, led by fellow brothers, they engage in meaningful discussion, accountability, and fellowship throughout the academic year.
Several brothers have also participated in the Orlando Project, a summer initiative focused on spiritual and personal development. Many who have taken part in the program have returned to Tennessee Tech University to serve Kappa Mu in leadership capacities, further strengthening the chapter’s culture of service and faith.
Into the Mission Field
This summer, Chaplain Luke Safin will take his commitment to service overseas as he prepares for a six-week mission trip to Thailand. The trip, coordinated by Campus Outreach, will send seven TTU students to partner with student ministry staff at Khon Kaen University. While there, they will build relationships and share the gospel with university students.
Safin previously served the chapter as Grand Procurator during his junior year and is set to graduate this fall with a degree in Exercise Science. As part of the mission effort, he is currently raising $7,500 to support the trip’s expenses and welcomes the encouragement and support of those who wish to contribute to this opportunity for global outreach. Through their leadership at home and service abroad, Chaplains exemplify Kappa Mu’s commitment to faith, brotherhood, and purposeful leadership.
