Cookeville Fire Department Finishes the Job

April 21, 2001- The Cookeville Fire Department burned what remained of the chapter house at 525 North Walnut in what was scheduled to be a training exercise in the early AM of April 21.The ole house went up much faster than anticipated. The site of the ole homestead was nothing but smoldering ashes less than 45 minutes into the execise. Many alumni brothers made the pilgrimage back to Tennessee Tech for this historical event. The burning just happened to coinside with the annual Anarchy in April festivites so there were plenty of events to keep the boys busy while visiting Cookeville, Hub City of the Upper Cumberlands.Now, all attention turns to the fundraising and building plan. The fundraising plan nears it's goal in pledges and the building planning is progressing at the desired pace. Check the web site often for the latest developments and happenings.
